Come on England!
It's Richard Rodgers v Frank Lloyd Wright, Fish and Chips v Hot Dogs, Take That v New Kids on The Block, Melinda Messenger v Pamela Anderson, the nation that gave the world Association Football v the nation that threw it back as So-cher or Socka.
This is it the biggest game for England in the World Cup finals since that one against Portugal four years ago. England, a country of millions of professional footballers against USA, a country with Landon Donovan and ten other blokes you've never heard of.
Let's be honest England have got a bye from the group stages and, unless Germany cock-up big time in their group, England have got a bye until they meet Brazil in the semi-finals. The warm-up games didn't look so good but then whose did apart from Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain's - okay, but that's not the point. Just as you don't win the Premiership before Christmas you don't win the World Cup in South Africa whilst still based in Austria. England actually go into this competition probably possessing two players of genuine world class talent in their respective positions: Ashley Cole and Wayne Rooney. Phillip Lahm the German captain would give Cole a run for his money but the German manager insists on playing Lahm at right back.
England should score a few home runs in the American end zone providing we don't have to rely on rebounds. If England don't win it will be the biggest shock since the USA beat us in Belo Horizonte back in 1950. Win this and some squad rotation can take place in the two remaining games, draw and everybody will be on edge until we roll Algeria over by half a dozen goals.

Jeez...you're more confident than me. I remember the mess last time when the US should have beaten Italy but for some shit reffing and even shitier Italian antics.
I've got Lahm in my fantasy football side (and Rooney)...and despite my Italian comments I've got Buffon as captain.
Buffon's up there with the best, I atcually think the two best goalkeepers in the world play in Italy at the moment, the Inter keeper Julio Cesar is number one.
