Ridicule is nothing to be scared of...

Sir Alex Ferguson's decision not to speak to any media after the defeat at Anfield yesterday is an insult to the hundreds of thousands of United fans across the globe. Whilst he might not like sections of the media for various reasons MUTV is paid for directly by the club's supporters and is the one organisation you would think he would have respected.

Managers, players, officials etc of football clubs seem to forget that the post match press conference and interviews are the point of connection between the club and fans. It's where you get the quotes directly from the horse's mouth and to decide to put a blanket ban across all the media is both childish and arrogant.

At least Kenny Dalglish made light of Ferguson's absence from the Anfield press room by telling reporters that "just because Fergie does'nae speak after games, I'm no going to spend twice as long talking to you."

Dalglish unfortunately didn't share his thoughts with the waiting reporters about Jamie Carraghers horrific tackle on Nani near the end of the first half. Nani may well be, like his Portuguese compatriot Ronaldo, the boy who cried wolf once too often, but the open wound on his left leg from knee to ankle was there for all to see.

yeah, Arsene gets ridiculed week in week out for saying things not unknown to pass other football managers' lips but there you go...

looking forward to tomorrow...you can cut the atmosphere here already! Gooners all over the place in town and not many tickets available...should be a full house.

After this "episode" and Mike Phelan's comments last week about Rooney's elbow I think you really have to ask just what kind of regime operates at Man Utd.

Other managers, AW included, seem to make comments "off their own bat" but at Man Utd you get the impression that all the bullshit is "scripted".

I think you're right shy, Gill came out with more of it today.

Change of subject: Paul, the photographer and Dorsetian resident in you will, for once, love a Daily Mail article:

I just posted on it. You'll recognise most of the sights.

('m not mentioning the football)

I agree with you both I think Man Utd believe they are a special case.

Thanks for the link Span, I actually wrote a piece the other week about clouds but didn't post it.
