Because It's Friday
And to prove the 1980's weren't all naff! Many things to enjoy here visually plus it really is a very good pop tune.
Wendy Smith in the Sprout was a bit like Candida Doyle in Pulp or Linda McCartney in Wings in that it wasn't always easy to see what they brought to the party. Well Wendy "La La's" perfectly here, Candida was responsible for the keyboard riff on Common People and Linda took some great photographs.

hot dog, jumping frog...lol! Oh how dated it all seems.
In my last job I sat, for fourteen years, next to a girl who is from the County Durham village of Witton Gilbert. A family by the name of McAloon ran the local garage and one of their sons is Paddy of Prefab Sprout fame.
Not really my bag but he does seem genuinely talented and you can't say that about every successful musician.
Span is right : it seems dated now, especially the video.
