The Randoness of Life (or how I learned to smile at the shuffle)

A week off work means extra time down the gym, or rather more visits to the gym. Anyway I'm standing on the treadmill having entered my weight, desired time of exercise and as the treadmill slowly starts I press the shuffle button on my I-Pod.

First song up is this classic from 1980, second song is is this from 1973. So far so good, I carry on on the treadmill until the programmed thirty minutes are up, clean the machine and then walk over to one of the cycles, to try and compete 15km in a faster time then last Saturday - the target is always to get under 30 minutes. Anyway I've been cycling for the best part of 12km and I've worked out (I know, I know I can't help it) that the next song should see me over the line (if it lasts around 4 minutes) and with a bit of luck closer to 29 minutes than 30. The song starts and I actually laugh out loud.

Oh, and I did the 15km in a new personal best of 28:04. I'm off to be rubbed down by one of Motorheads dancers.

At several points I was worried in case the lass in the red hat singed her pubes! :-) Talk about a bush fire!

Lemmy does look a bit worried a couple of times. I got contacted by a model recently about doing a shoot, in her profile she says that she is 'confident when working with fire' - I had no idea what she meant but I do now!

Not sure Lemmy was worried about the fire!

Anyway, did you have a heart monitor as you were running? The music plays a bit part (also when driving...unfortunately!)...can you imagine smashing your record to 'Bright Eyes' or something! :-)

I agree about the speed of the music having an impact - also with regards to driving there's a big difference between driving through town on a by-pass and driving through the New Forest on a dual carriageway in my opinion, something to do with green being a calming colour.
