The Wagons Are Moving Into A Circle

One for conspiracy theorists everywhere but why did the Chelsea Chairman feel the need to explain the club's position on the Terry and Clattenburg cases, yet again, just hours before Scotland Yard announced they had dropped their investigation into the use of 'inappropriate language' by the Premier League referee.

Since the so-called 'incident' nearly three weeks ago that nobody seems to have actually heard, television microphones haven't picked up and the F.A haven't publicly admitted that there is a case to answer for we've had Chelsea's side of the events almost daily. Two players, neither of whom apparently speaks English, originally heard what they thought was the use of the word 'monkey', this wasn't heard by anybody else but then a member of a group of lawyers who seem to have put themselves up as some sort of racist vigilante squad got involved and the story ran and ran. Move into the second week of Mark Clattenburg's suspension (whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty) and the internet was filled with accusations that the referee who was heartily pissed off by the constant dissent of the Chelsea players happened to say as a comment that 'he didn't give a monkey's' about what somebody thought about a decision.

Chelsea should have the book thrown at them over this if Clattenburg is also cleared by the FA. Accusing the referee of racism without a shred of evidence is probably one of the worst cases of bringing the game into disrepute there has ever been and if a club outside of the rarified atmosphere of the Premier League were to be found guilty of a similar offence then I'm sure they would be deducted points.

I can't imagine Chelsea, or any other Premiership club, throwing the book at a top player. If such a player were hauled over the coals by his club he'd probably respond by ringing his agent and saying "Get me out of here".

That's true although in most other employment situations they would get the push.

It's bad isn't it, when an ugly black monkey like that can be so dumb.

(get out of gaol card)
