Bees do it, even educated fleas do it - but apparently Squirrels don't....

I was having a conversation with Squirrel today and she was telling me how annoying her sister and boyfriend are now that they have got engaged. She hasn't said whether she's happy for her sister yet, just how her sister's fiance now says things in a similar way to big Sis. I said that this wasn't unusual for couples who are in love and that she must have been the same in the past. She then told me that she's never been in love.

I was quite surprised, not because she's an attractive twentysomething but because she's an attractive twenty seven year old who has yet to fall in love with somebody. Now I know that I'm a hopeless romantic, always have been but 27 does seem quite old to actually get that strange feeling in your stomach, that isn't food poisoning - or am I out of touch?

The funny thing is that two people in our house didn't meet their husband/wife until well into their thirties, in fact Grumpy Parrot hadn't even had a girlfriend until he reached 34 and met his wife via a singles club - the story goes that he was so nervous about going he took a work colleague along and then had to ask another colleague to go with him the next time to check
woman he's set his sights on to be his future wife.

So is 27 a normal age these days to still be looking for love?
